Couple Statue

Dating to the reigns of Seti I (1294–1279 BCE) and Ramesses II (1279–1213 BCE), this statue was likely discovered at Thebes. Now preserved in the Department of Egyptian Antiquities (N 3566; Salt n°3741), it represents the divine pair Amun and Mut.

Amun  : Seated, wearing a loincloth, plumage corset, ousekh necklace, arm and ankle bracelets, and crowned with the Amun crown.

Mut  : Also seated, adorned with a feathered dress, tripartite wig, vulture headdress combined with the pschent crown, as well as an ousekh necklace, arm and ankle bracelets.

This sculpture emphasizes their divine majesty and the unity of the Theban triad.
