A Call for Help at Tunica Humane Society

At the Tunica Humane Society, the fight to save lives never ends. Each day brings new challenges, new heartbreaks, and new reasons to keep going. Transport days are a rare blessing for the staff and volunteers—a brief moment to breathe before the work begins again.

This week, the shelter welcomed a litter of tiny puppies from Crenshaw, Mississippi. Their story is a painful reminder of why this work matters. One by one, the rest of their siblings disappeared in the elements, their fates unknown. Against the odds, these few survived.

Now just five weeks old, the puppies are safe—but they need more than shelter. They need homes where they will be loved, nurtured, and given the chance at life that every animal deserves.

“These babies have had such a tough start,” says the team at THS. “We want them to know nothing but love from here on out.”

The shelter is urgently seeking foster families to care for them. Because of their age, they hope to place the puppies in pairs, ensuring comfort and companionship as they grow stronger.
