Senior Terrier Ruby Seeks Comfort and Love in Her Golden Years

RELEATED VIDEOS :

At 13 years old, Ruby the terrier should be spending her days curled up on a soft bed, enjoying warmth and comfort. Instead, this frosty-faced senior has endured months in kennels, waiting for someone to open their heart and home.

Ruby’s life changed dramatically when her previous owner became too unwell to care for her. She entered council kennels, where time passed slowly and her delicate frame began to show the strain. Recently, she was taken in by a local rescue charity, which is now working tirelessly to find her a permanent home.

“Ruby is a gentle, sensitive soul,” a spokesperson for the charity explained. “She doesn’t deserve to spend her twilight years in a kennel. She deserves love, peace, and security.”

The charity has committed to covering all of Ruby’s future medical costs, easing the burden for any adopter willing to step forward. That care is vital, as Ruby faces ongoing health challenges: weak back legs that leave her wobbly on walks, poor hearing and eyesight, and the need for daily medication and a special urinary diet. Despite these obstacles, she still enjoys little adventures, and a buggy has been provided to ensure she can experience them safely.

Ruby is best suited to a calm, pet-free home where she can be the center of attention. She has always been the only pet and thrives in an environment where she receives gentle care and reassurance.

Above all, what Ruby needs most is not complicated: a loving hand, a quiet home, and a safe place to rest.

The charity is also appealing for donations to help cover Ruby’s veterinary expenses. “Every gift, no matter how small, makes a difference,” the spokesperson added. “Ruby has already given so much love in her lifetime. Now, she deserves to receive it in return.”

For Ruby, time is precious. With kindness and compassion, her final chapter can still be her happiest.
