👵🏻🌹 A Letter from Grandma Maria 🌹👵🏻

I am 82 years old. My heart carries the love of 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren… yet my world now fits inside a room of just 12 square meters.

🏡 I no longer have a house filled with the treasures of a lifetime. What I do have are kind people who cook my meals, tidy my room, and check my health. But I no longer hear the laughter of my grandchildren echoing through the halls, or watch them grow, quarrel, make up, and hug each other tightly. Some visit every few weeks, some every few months… and some, not at all.

📖 I keep myself busy with small hobbies, reading until my eyes grow tired, or offering comfort to those here who are lonelier than I am. I used to read aloud to my neighbor, and together we would sing the old songs. Last week, she passed away, and the silence feels heavier than ever.

⏳ They say life is longer now. But what is a long life if it stretches on without family close by? The greatest treasures I hold are the photographs, the faded letters, and the memories I carried here — for they are all I have left of the home I once knew.

💌 To the younger generations: never forget your family. They are your roots, your strength, and the greatest gift you will ever hold. Time passes quickly, and one day, all that will remain are the moments you chose to share.

Please, don’t show this letter to my children.
With all my love,
Grandma Maria 🌹
