Bird Goddess on a Chariot

Ceramic figure of a bird goddess on a chariot drawn by water birds, dated 1500–1200 BC. Discovered near the Danube River at Dupljaja, close to Dubovac in the Banat region of Serbia.
The goddess figure, lavishly decorated with spirals, solar circles, and other ornaments, is detachable and could be used separately.
The piece is thought to anticipate later associations of Aphrodite, the Great Goddess, riding a bird. Now housed in the National Museum of Serbia, Belgrade.
