πΆπ A Journey Through the NICU β Strength, Love & Gratitude ππΆ
At 38 weeks, my second daughter, Holly, came into this world via c-section. But what should have been pure joy quickly turned into fear β she was born with a lung infection passed from me and within hours, she was rushed to the NICU. π Watching her surrounded by oxygen masks and not being able to hold her for the first two days was one of the hardest moments of my life.
Through those long days, one thing kept me steady β my incredible husband. π Despite his own fears, he stayed calm, strong, and patient, guiding me through waves of emotions and reminding me that we were not alone in this. His quiet strength and love carried me when I could barely hold myself together.
Thankfully, after five days in the NICU, Holly was strong enough to come home. π That moment when she finally met her big sister was magical β a memory Iβll treasure forever.
I share this story for two reasons:
1οΈβ£ NICU parents are true warriors. π
Even our 5 days felt endless β I cannot begin to imagine the strength of those who endure weeks or months. They deserve medals, flowers, endless recognition, and all the prayers in the world. πΈ
2οΈβ£ I am beyond blessed with my husband. β€οΈ He was my rock, my voice of reason, my encourager when all I could do was cry. In those hard days, I fell in love with him all over again.
To all NICU families β you are stronger than you know. π
