Ahmose Nefertari

Ahmose Nefertari was one of the most prominent queens of ancient Egypt, revered both in life and after death. She was the wife of Pharaoh Ahmose I, founder of the 18th Dynasty, and played a vital role in consolidating the royal family’s power after the expulsion of the Hyksos.
Highly respected for her political and religious influence, she was granted the prestigious title of “God’s Wife of Amun,” which greatly elevated her status.
After her death, she was deified and worshipped as a protective goddess, especially in the Theban region, where her cult remained active for centuries.
Her depictions in temples and tombs, often shown with dark skin and elaborate attire, symbolize her enduring importance in Egyptian history and religion.
