This massive left foot, part of a colossal statue of Olympian Zeus, was discovered among the ruins of a Hellenistic temple in Ai-Khanoum, Afghanistan.

The site, once a major Greco-Bactrian city, reflects the fusion of Greek and Eastern artistic and religious traditions following the conquests of Alexander the Great.
