32 Years of Hope: Li Jingzhi’s Tireless Search Ends in a Miracle Reunion

Li Jingzhi’s son, Mao Yin, was kidnapped in 1988 at just two years old while walking home from nursery. He was sold to another family and raised under the name Gu Ningning in Sichuan Province.

For over three decades, Li Jingzhi refused to give up hope. She quit her job, traveled across more than 20 provinces, and distributed over 100,000 flyers in her desperate search.

Along the way, she appeared on television appeals and even helped 29 other families reunite with their abducted children.

The Emotional Climax

Then in April 2020, police received a crucial tip that someone in Sichuan Province had paid 6,000 yuan (£690) to adopt a child from Xi’an many years ago.

Investigators traced the lead and used DNA testing to confirm the match—it was Mao Yin.

After 32 years of tireless searching, Li was finally reunited with her son in an emotional meeting that moved the entire nation.

Li Jingzhi’s story remains a powerful testament to the enduring strength of a mother’s love that never gives up.
