Luna’s Last Nap: A Love That Will Never Fade

Luna’s Last Nap: A Love That Will Never Fade

Luna took her last nap today. My baby girl, the heartbeat of my home, is gone. She wasn’t just a dog — she was my shadow, my laughter, my reason to smile on the days when I’d forgotten how.

I still remember the first day I met her. She was a clumsy little pup who couldn’t even climb onto the couch, but she climbed straight into my heart. She grew up on my chest — sleeping while I worked, waiting while I healed, loving me when I didn’t deserve it.

Every morning, she greeted me like I was her whole world. And today… that world ended.

I wrapped her in her favorite blanket, the one she used to steal every winter, and whispered softly, “You can rest now, Luna.” Her eyes closed gently, as if she were just tired — not gone.

If you’ve ever loved a dog, you know. It’s never “just a pet.” They are your best friend, your therapist, your family. They see you at your worst and love you anyway. And when they leave, it feels like they take a piece of you with them.

So if you’re reading this, please say a small prayer for Luna. Somewhere beyond the clouds, I hope she’s running free, chasing butterflies, wagging that silly tail, and waiting for me at the gates of forever.

Luna, thank you for loving me so fiercely, so faithfully, so completely. You’ll always be my girl.
